In northern Virginia, Culpeper, Southern Fauquier and Stafford. In northwest Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page and Rappahannock. In western Virginia, Augusta and Rockingham. * WHEN. From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Thunderstorms this afternoon and evening could have intense rain rates exceeding 2 inches per hour. A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas. Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA. Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD. At 649 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm southwest of Fairview Beach to near Nomini Bay, moving north at 15 knots.
