Portions of central, northern, northwest, and western Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Albemarle, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Greene, Orange and Spotsylvania. In northern Virginia, Culpeper, Southern Fauquier and Stafford. In northwest Virginia, Madison, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page and Rappahannock. In western Virginia, Augusta and Rockingham. * WHEN. From 5 PM this afternoon to 11 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. SMWLWX The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a * Special Marine Warning for. Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA. Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD. * Until 845 PM EDT. * At 720 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 nm southwest of Potomac Creek to 7 nm southeast of Fairview Beach to near Westmoreland State Park, moving northeast at 15 knots. HAZARD. Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. * Locations impacted include. Potomac Creek, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy Creek, Port Tobacco River, Cobb Island, Swan Point, Mathias Point, U.S. 301 Nice Memorial Bridge, Wicomico River, Popes Creek, Brent Point, Westmoreland State Park, Fairview Beach, Colonial Beach, and Dahlgren.
