For the South Fork Shenandoah River. including Lynnwood, Luray, Front Royal. flooding is possible. * WHAT. Flooding is possible. * WHERE. South Fork Shenandoah River at Front Royal. * WHEN. From early this morning until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Backwater begins to creep up Luray Avenue toward the railroad trestle. A riverside parking area at the end of Luray Avenue is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 3:15 AM EDT Monday the stage was 7.6 feet, or 4.4 feet below flood stage. - Forecast. For the Shenandoah River. including Millville. flooding is possible. * WHAT. Flooding is possible. * WHERE. Shenandoah River at Millville. * WHEN. From Tuesday afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS. At 12.0 feet, Water reaches the river access at Wagon Trail Place near Harpers Ferry, and completely covers the parking lot of the lower boat ramp at Millville Dam. Portions of the Cool Spring Battlefield begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 3:30 AM EDT Monday the stage was 8.8 feet, or 1.2 feet below flood stage. - Forecast. Ahead of a slow-moving upper low, anomalous tropical moisture is in place. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected within the watch area. * WHAT. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE. Portions of central and western Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Albemarle, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Greene, Nelson and Orange. In western Virginia, Augusta, Eastern Highland and Western Highland. * WHEN. From 11 AM EDT this morning through this evening. * IMPACTS. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - Another round of moderate to heavy showers are expected over the same areas which have seen recent flooding issues. Total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are likely, with localized amounts up to 5 inches possible in a few spots.
