At 301 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Utica, or 8 miles south of Mount Vernon, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include. Gambier, Martinsburg, and Bladensburg.

At 244 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Gahanna, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD. Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and very heavy rain. SOURCE. Radar indicated. IMPACT. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation. Lightning can cause serious injury or death. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible. Locations impacted include. Columbus, Westerville, Grove City, Upper Arlington, Gahanna, Bexley, Pataskala, Johnstown, Utica, Minerva Park, Ohio State University, Easton, Whitehall, New Albany, Grandview Heights, Jersey, Urbancrest, Valleyview, Marble Cliff, and Hartford. This includes the following Interstates. I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 94 and 103. I-71 in Ohio between mile markers 102 and 115. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution. When thunder roars, go indoors! Do not stay in the open or seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS. - At 309 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include. Johnstown.
